Idiotic response from UIDAI

When I have a foreign number introduced as alternate number to my mobile number this response of AN UIDAI makes any sense?

Dear Resident,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our notice.

Your Service Request Number (SRN-S2018122305000) has been registered with us. Please find below our response against your query:

Query 01 (Subcase Id: S20181223050002025020412460401)

Resolution:
UIDAI has introduced a feature of locking and unlocking of Aadhaar Number for Aadhaar Authentication. Locking of Aadhaar number ensures that Authentication at AUAs can only be performed using Virtual ID and not using Aadhaar number.

Based on this feature, any Aadhaar holder would have an option to ?lock? / 'unlock' his/her Aadhaar Number (UID) till they wish to. Resident must have their Mobile Number registered with Aadhaar Number in order to avail this service.

Note: - After locking Aadhaar resident will not be able to perform authentication using Aadhaar number.VID is mandatory for UID lock/unlock. Resident shall ensure that latest VID is with him. In order to retrieve existing VID resident may send SMS to 1947. RVID [last 4 or 8 digits of UID] {ex: RVID 1234}

Process to Lock/Unlock UID: -

1. Please visit https://resident.uidai.gov.in/aadhaar-lockunlock and select "Lock/Ulock Aadhaar" option for Locking/unlocking feature
2. For locking, enter VID, Full Name, Pin code, Secret code (Captcha) and click ?Send OTP?.
3. Enter OTP and click on ?Submit? option. UID will be ?locked?.
4. For unlocking, enter VID, Secret code (Captcha) and click ?Send OTP? option.
5. Enter OTP and click on ?Submit? option. UID will be ?unlocked?.

Resident can also send SMS to lock/unlock UID by sending SMS to 1947.

First resident has to generate OTP by sending GETOTPAadhaar NUMBER-last-4-digits.

After that send LOCKUIDAadhaar NUMBER-last 4-digitsOTP-6-digits to lock.

To unlock send UNLOCKUIDVirtual-ID-last-6-digitsOTP-6-digits

We appreciate your patience and thank you for contacting us.
